Energy Transfer BBQ Cookoff 2012

Jason and his BBQ team, The Serial Grillers competed in the Energy Transfer BBQ Cookoff today. They ended up having the 3rd Place Brisket. Good Job Yall!!

Peyton competed in the BB Gun Shootout and got 2nd Place & received a BB GUN! He was so proud of himself! (And Mom and Dad are pretty proud too!)

Kristen's Graduation from EHS - 2012

Our sweet friend Kristen Carter graduated from good Ol Edna High tonight.So hard to think back to when we first met her...she was in 4th grade.  These "kids" grow up way too fast!

We ALWAYS love when Jenny, Jack and Anna come to visit. (Missed ya Kevin!)  Anna and Peyton seem to really enjoy each others company and play so well together now.  (It wasn't always so pleasant.  Their strong personalities and play preferences clashed.  Anna thought they should be playing fairies and butterflies and Peyton wanted to hunt animals and bad guys. lol)    We hope to have more visits this summer.

This is our 3rd year attending the parade. One of our favorite events of the summer! 

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

In celebration of Dr. Seuss' Birthday, Peyton's Little School requested that the students dress "Seussical."  Much like everything else. I forgot until sometime after 8pm Wednesday night that Thursday was THE day!  I scrambled and after a trip to Walmart, some glue, felt, etc. I came up with a costume. 

Let me introduce you to...THING 1!

They're a Seussical pair
From the Cat in the Hat

They come out of a box,
Thing 1 and Thing 2.
They do not say much,
Just "How do you do?"

They make mischief & mayhem
with "bumps, jumps, and kicks"
They like to fly kites
and do lots of bad tricks.

They destroy the whole house
while running about
as the fish in the dish yells
"You must get them out!"

Till at last, mom is seen
at the end of the day.
And the Cat packs them up
and takes them away.
